For second-look equipment lenders: the files the bank passed on
A bank's no is often a second-look lender's best file. EFN routes those deals to the lender whose box was built for them, one lender at a time, instead of to a list.
The deals that need a second look
Most declined equipment deals are not bad deals. They are deals that reached a lender whose rules ruled them out: an asset the bank will not touch, a business a year too young, a score below the bank's floor, a ticket above its limit, a private-party sale. The business owner rarely knows which lenders do those deals, so many of them stop at the first no.
EFN's borrower pages say plainly that one bank's no isn't the final word, and they name the files: older equipment, newer businesses, rebuilding credit, bigger deals, and private sales. For each, EFN looks for a lender that does those deals, and promises the borrower no approval. If that is the lender you are, your profile is how those files find you.
Say exactly which second looks you want
- Challenged credit: your minimum FICO, or none, and how much challenged credit you are comfortable with.
- Startups: whether you work with new businesses at all, and how new.
- Older equipment: your age limits and mileage caps, by what you finance.
- Private-party and auction purchases: whether you take them.
- Larger tickets: your deal-size minimum, maximum and sweet spot, and the documentation you require by deal size, from app-only up to a full financial package.
Your box is the routing rule. A lender that wants seasoned operators with older iron and is cautious on startups receives exactly that, and a lender that leans into new businesses with real money down receives that. Every match is human-reviewed against your credit box before it reaches you.
Larger, full-documentation deals
Not every second look is a small, thin file. Growing companies with uneven years, a recent loss, or a bank that tops out below the purchase are buying machines and fleets well above app-only size. If you fund those deals on a full financial package, set your deal-size range and documentation thresholds to say so, and those files are routed to you rather than to a lender that only writes application-only deals.
One lender at a time, never a blast
Each deal goes to one lender at a time, with no competing calls from other lenders. You have 24 hours to claim it; once you claim it, it is yours until you pass. Unclaimed after 24 hours, it moves to the next best fit.
That matters more on second-look paper than anywhere else. A file that has been sent to a list arrives with a stack of inquiries and a borrower already fielding calls. A file that comes to you alone arrives with one soft credit pull from EFN and a borrower waiting to hear from one lender.
What it costs
Joining is free. The referral fee is 1% of the funded amount, and a referral fee applies only on deals that actually fund. Pay nothing for leads you pass on.
EFN works exclusively with direct lenders: banks, credit unions, specialty finance companies, and equipment finance groups that fund deals from their own balance sheet or credit facility. We do not work with brokers, loan packagers, or intermediaries.
Common questions
Does EFN only send challenged-credit deals?
No. EFN sends the deals that fit your profile. A lender that wants strong credit and larger tickets receives those; a lender that wants challenged credit or startups receives those.
Will the same declined file be sent to many lenders?
No. Each deal goes to one lender at a time, with 24 hours to claim it. Once claimed it stays with that lender, and moves on only if that lender passes.
Can I receive larger deals that need full financials?
Yes. Set your deal-size range and your documentation requirements by deal size in your profile, and files above your app-only limit can be routed to you when they fit.
Is there a cost if a deal does not fund?
No. The referral fee is 1% of the funded amount and applies only on deals that actually fund.
